Rescued from the Ocean. Ready for Your Brand.
There is a moment, somewhere along a coastal road in Indonesia, where a polypropylene cup gets a second chance. It does not end up in the ocean. It ends up in your hands, branded, purposeful, and part of a story worth telling.
That is what our Prevented Ocean Plastic range is about. And the story behind it matters far more than the product itself.
Why Infrastructure is the Real Problem
Every year, around 150 billion polypropylene cups are discarded in Indonesia alone. In regions where waste collection infrastructure is limited, those cups face a straightforward but devastating fate: they become ocean-bound plastic, destined to pollute coastlines and marine environments for decades.
The recycled material already exists. The missing piece has always been the means to collect it.
The manufacturer behind this range has gone beyond simply sourcing recycled material. Through a direct partnership with Prevented Ocean Plastic™, they have funded three dedicated plastic collection trucks operating in coastal communities where waste systems are under-resourced. Those trucks create collection routes, support local workers with a stable income, and intercept plastic at the source before it ever reaches the water.
It is a distinction that matters. Using recycled content is a positive step. Actively helping to build the infrastructure that makes recycling possible is something different altogether. By supplying this range, we are proud to bring that commitment directly to our customers.
How the Material Comes Back to Life
The cups collected through these community routes are processed into EU-approved, food-safe post-consumer recycled polypropylene, a material that meets the same standards as virgin plastic for products that come into contact with food and drink.
That recycled polypropylene is then used in UK-manufactured products, closing what is often referred to as the circular loop: waste collected in one part of the world is responsibly processed and given a new purpose closer to home.
The principle behind the whole programme can be summed up simply: Rescue. Recycle. Reuse. Repeat.
Transparent by Design
One of the things we find most compelling about the Prevented Ocean Plastic™ programme is how it handles transparency. Products in the range carry QR codes that connect users directly to the Prevented Ocean Plastic story, showing exactly where the material came from, how it was collected, and what impact their purchase has supported.
For brands giving away reusable drinkware at events, adding items to onboarding packs, or building sustainability into their gifting strategy, that level of traceability is increasingly important. Recipients are not just holding a cup. They are holding evidence of something that happened, a tangible contribution to keeping plastic out of the ocean.
A Product Worth Talking About
A good example of the range in action is the Alto POP 350ml Single Walled Tumbler. Half of its material is Prevented Ocean Plastic, with each tumbler reusing the equivalent of ten discarded cups collected from coastal communities in Asia.
The single-walled build features insulating ridges that make it comfortable to hold, whether the contents are hot or cold, and it is available with two lid options: a 360-degree clip-on lid for flexibility, or a spout lid with a tactile guide that makes finding the drinking point straightforward. Both vessel and lid are made from fully recyclable plastics, so when the tumbler eventually reaches the end of life, the material stays in the loop rather than leaving it.
Available in black, white, blue, and sandstone, with a minimum order of 50, it is a product that fits naturally into event merchandise, team gifting, and new starter welcome packs. The branding opportunity is there, but so is the conversation starter, and often, that is the more valuable thing.
Part of a Broader Commitment
The Alto is one of several UK-made products now using this certified recycled polypropylene. The Cirrus reusable cup and H2O Active® Eco Treble 750 ml Flip Lid Sport Bottle are the starting point, with bottles and tumblers expanding the range further.
The intention is a consistent, traceable material story across an entire product family, not a single sustainability gesture, but an ongoing commitment built into how products are made.
For organisations looking to give branded items that reflect their values, this range offers something that most merchandise cannot: a verified, documented positive impact, not just a recycled label.

Sustainability should feel like a considered choice, not a compromise. This range is built to be both.
