Christmas time we always try and do something different and that helps others that need that extra bit of TLC! We know this year has been a struggle for so many in so many different ways.
This year we decided to take part in #Secretpantsa and collect undies for our local amazing charity Sharewear Clothing Scheme. The work that they do is truly brilliant and all the donations they receive go to help people that need them the most. In the past we have sent old clothing to Sharewear but I had read that they were appealing for underwear as they can 99% kit someone out but have to find extra funds for the underwear so I thought it was a great idea to ask everyone if they could get involved if they are able to; maybe add a couple pairs of pants to your next shopping order or when you pop to the supermarket (all ages but especially adults).
I found out about the Nothing to Wear campaign last year in the run up to the general election where I heard Louise Cooke talk at one of our meetings and it totally inspired me with the work that they do.
I have been banging on about it to anyone that would listen, putting them forward to be an option for anyone that needs to direct their cash or clothes to a great scheme.
Nothing to wear how many times have we all said that and how many times has it actually been true. What if yzou really did have nothing to wear? They help so many people that often find themselves in situations where they have nothing to wear. It could be for an interview, a funeral, in need a winter coat for their child because they have fallen on hard times or left home with what they are wearing for their own safety. They literally kit people out and make a massive difference to their lives and to me that is special!
We've started the pile off with a 100 pairs and the team are all giving too so anything that you can do to help; would be amazing and we would be very grateful.
They are also in urgent need of the following if you can help: #ItsAWrap warm hats, scarves and gloves for adults. Winter coats for children aged 4 upwards and adults.
